Love the 511 products but they are frequently sized differently throughout the product lines and even colors within the same product line. You would be well advised to try on the exact product you are wanting at a retail store to make sure that you like the fit. I have a black pair of 511 stryke shorts in a 33" that fits perfectly. I ordered a blue/grey pair in 33" and they are closer to a 32" than a 33". The different colors of the same pair of shorts are imported from different countries! When you pay $80 for a pair of shorts they should at least run consistent with regard to size! Of course I remembered the same issue with the long pants a couple of years ago a little too late... But beware the size. The shorts seem to run a little large... Good fit and arrived on time. These shorts are terrific. They're better than I'd hoped for. I bought the desert tiger stripe in size large. I'm 6'3", 230-235 lbs. I've been losing a little weight and I'm at an awkward size (between the 38's and the 40's.) These shorts are snug at the waist, with room in the hips and thighs. I have a green tiger stripe pair in XL that are getting too baggy and threaten to slide down off my 55 year old butt - which would be a tragedy for me, and any unfortunates who might be there to bear witness. They've upgraded the design too! They now have open top tech pockets at the top of, central to, and hidden behind, the bellows side pockets. They've moved the rearward, of the two bellows pocket buttons, more toward the middle, allowing the contents to stay more secure, (if you like leaving the forward button undone.) The waist tabs, at the sides remain, and I hope I'll need to be able to tighten them up a bit as I continue to shed a couple more of those tenacious pounds. I'm thinking about getting another pair, in tan or green. Good fit and arrived on time. I love the fit was perfect and comfortable I like to work in the yard and I have a pretty big yard! My yard has 23 species of trees which entails a lot of scratchy, dirty, heavy work. I've actually gone through a couple of pairs of denim shorts. I was amazed at the comfort of these shorts. Although they are lightweight and breathable, they are tough as nails. Branch snags and splinters didn't harm them. Spills of all kinds of liquids, even sticky ones, ran right off without staining. Between the elastic back and the velcro from the fit was perfect all day and they didn't slide down like my denim shorts. Best of all, they look great when I have to run to the store in mid-job! I'm not sure what the "tactical" macho-stuff is all about. (probably to attract a younger set, disregard that.) It just means they have well-designed pockets and lots of them. Comfort and look, great for golf Very good! I'm a36" waistline, these are a 38 and I ordered a 34. I took them to my tallor who said she could sew a dart in them for $10. Now I'm thinking I'll order the 32 and keep the one that fits best. I think it's worth the trouble because for the price, you won't find a better golf/casual dress short anywhere. Very classy. I ordered the grey. I do like the shorts a lot, however, my husband isn't as thrilled as he feels they leave little to the imagination with respect to what God gave me, even with underwear. For me, that's totally fine and I'm comfortable with that, I just wish they had a pocket to carry at least a car key! I don't mind leaving my wallet in the car and carrying my iPhone and water bottle. The key, however, is another matter as I always fear losing the key while at the gym. Good length - just above the knee. Fit great standing up, but once you start to sit or bend down, the thigh material tightens up making it difficult to sit down without pulling up the thigh’s first —Kind of annoying to be honest. I would also expect a lot more “stretch” as per described in the description as it’s non existent. Considering returning the two pairs I’ve purchased because no sense going up a size as they fit my waist… The shorts are fine but I've knocked off two stars because they took so long to arrive and I was tempted to knock more off. If the product was out of stock it should simply have said so and I would have chosen a different colour, as it was by the time they arrived my holidays and been and gone, I feel I not only had to wait for them to be made from the start but I must also of had to wait for the cotton to be harvested and quite possibly the first crop failed , so had to wait further for the cotton to be replanted then grow then harvest again by which time the manufactures had gone on their own vacation , so had to wait further for them to come back and make the shorts, which when made, must of had issues with freight handlers being on strike because they still hadn't arrived ! Decent product spoiled by long wait. (lots of other worldwide orders arrived in a fraction of the time) Could be a little longer, but definitely worth the price. Really cute and goes with several autumn and winter outfits. Test your luck. I received two pairs that could not handle 1 wash cycle.
